The majority of ILCHF funding is awarded through RFPs that may be issued at different times throughout the year.
Applying for a grant through RFPs
Step 1: Determine whether your organization is eligible for funding. You must be a 501(c)(3) organization determined to be a public charity under section 509(a)(1), (2), or (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or be a government entity described in Code section 170(c)(1) or 511(a)(2)(B). Your proposed activities must serve Illinois children.
Step 2: Determine whether your project qualifies. Review theopen RFP(s) and determine whether your project is a match to the projects being sought for funding. Submit a Letter of Inquiry or Proposal (based on the specific RFP timeline) with the required information by the posting deadline. Be sure to attach all of the requested documentation - incomplete applications will be eliminated from consideration. All applicants must submit their proposals electronically - including all required attachments. Please review the instructions for using this process before you begin completing your application.
Step 3: Please be as thorough and as timely as possible if you are contacted with questions or a request for more information - late responses for additional information will remove a project from consideration.
Step 4: If the application process is two-step and you are selected to submit a full proposal, be sure to follow the proposal directions precisely and submit it by the posted deadline. Late proposals will be eliminated from consideration.
